The second annual Nepal Day was hosted by the Nepal Ireland Society and the Nepalese community in Ireland in the grounds of Farmleigh House, Castleknock, beside the Phoneix Park in north Co Dublin, on Sunday, September 21st.

The day was a great success, highlighting the rich diversity of landscape, culture, food and art in Nepal.

The programme for this year's Nepal Day demonstrated Nepalese culture through music and dancing, handicrafts and food. There was a photographic exhibition, and organisations that worked in Nepal had a stand at the event.

As a Hindu country and the birthplace of Buddha, Nepal is a fascinating place for those seeking a culture and spiritual experience.

Nepal enjoys a lot of landscapes, ranging from the heights of Mount Everest to the sub-tropical Chitwan National Park, where tigers and the elephants roam. With eight of the world's fourteen 8,000 meter peaks, Nepal remains an important destination for the mountaineer from around the world. It is also an increasingly popular destination for mountaineers and tourists from Ireland.

Nepal Day 2014 was supported by the Embassy if Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board and the Office of Public Works, Department of Finance.
