Nepal Ireland Day 2023 Concludes in Dublin's Farmleigh
Dublin, 2nd July 2023 - The Embassy of Nepal London, Nepal Ireland Society, and NRNA Ireland joined hands to organize the grand celebration of Nepal Ireland Day at Farmleigh in Phoenix Park, Dublin. The event showcased the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Nepal, attracting a diverse audience. Under the able leadership of Mr. Balkrishna Shrestha, General Secretary of Nepal Ireland Society, and the artistic guidance of Ms. Prajaya Neupane, Cultural Secretary of Nepal Ireland Society, the event turned out to be a resounding success.
The festivities commenced with a captivating Nepal Photo exhibition, highlighting the mesmerizing landscapes, historical sites, and cultural treasures of the Himalayan nation. This was followed by a spellbinding cultural program, featuring scintillating Nepalese traditional dances that enthralled the spectators.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Irish Member of Parliament, Mr. Chris Andrews (TD), who inaugurated the celebration, symbolizing the strong ties between Nepal and Ireland. Mr. Gangaram Kandel, Vice-President of Nepal Ireland Society, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a festive atmosphere. A vote of thanks was presented by Chief Public Relations Officer and Vice-President of Nepal Ireland Society Mr. Jivan Timalsina, expressing gratitude to all the participants and organizers.
The distinguished guest, Mr. Fachtna Clandillon, who selflessly volunteered for 19 years in Nepal to build schools for underprivileged children in remote regions, was present at the event. He was honored for his remarkable contribution to the welfare of Nepalese communities. Mr. Chandra Bomjon, as a senior member of the Nepalese community in Ireland, graciously accepted the role of Chief Guest, adding prestige to the occasion.
Mr. Binod Karki, President of NRNA Ireland, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration between Nepal and Ireland. The cultural program was hosted by Mr. Santosh Sharma and Ms. Karuna Thapa. The inauguration event was hosted by Ms. Grishma Kandel.
A lineup of talented artists showcased their skills during the cultural performances, leaving the audience in awe. The participating artists included Sarina Ghimire, Sarana Ghimire, Krisha Gautam, Shristika Thapa, Alisha Gaire, Anisha Gaire, Saru Thapa, Salina Karki, Saanvi Chaulagain, Inesh Koirala, Rusby Kc, Unnati Gautam, Pragati Gautam, Prajaya Neupane, Ngawang Lhadze, Sidhanda Gupta, Aakriti Neupane, and many others. These artists were honored with certificates of appreciation and trophies as tokens of gratitude for their outstanding contributions. The special guests of the event, Mr. Fachtna Clandillon, Mr. Chandra Bomjon, and Executive Members of Nepal Ireland Society and NRNA Ireland, presented the souvenirs to the artists.
