Prof. Dr.
Ram Manohar Shrestha
Professor of Energy Economics and
Planning,
School of Environment, Resources and
Development,
Asian Institute of Technology (AIT),
Bangkok, Thailand.
"The awards committee selected your research as being
an outstanding contribution to international energy
economics that represents an innovative application of solid
economic analysis to an important policy issue. Your two
papers provide a particularly valuable framework for
evaluating market and non-market options for managing forest
resources and should help stimulate other researchers to
address related issues with the same care and clarity."
This was the citation made by the President of the
International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) when he presented Mr. Ram Manohar Shrestha with the Energy
Journal's Best Paper award.
Born in Baglung, Professor Shrestha completed his SLC
from Vidhya Mandir High School in Baglung and then I.Sc from
Amrit Science College. He did B.Eng. in 1973 from India and
went on to complete M.Eng. and Ph.D. from Asian Institute of
Technology. He is now a professor of Energy Economics and
Planning at the School of Environment, Resources and
Development, AIT, Bangkok. A veteran of more than 150
International Journal, Conference and Workshop Papers,
Professor Ram Manohar has supervised 28 sponsored projects.

Nepalese son, who can be counted equally intellectual in any
intellectual gathering of the world.
